AOD is a multinational corporation founded in November 2004, based in the United States with a manufacturing facility in Weifang, China, and sales offices across the globe. As one of the first companies to research and develop white LED street lights in 2004, AOD installed the world’s first LED street light in 2005—marking a milestone in sustainable urban lighting.
Our innovation stems from a US-educated PhD team specializing in semiconductor technology. We focus on the exploration and application of light energy to create the foundation for future smart cities. From chip to packaging, and from light distribution to luminaire design, AOD ensures excellence at every stage.
With over 10,000 projects completed worldwide—including street lighting, harbor installations, factories, warehouses, and smart city deployments—AOD has proven its leadership in the LED lighting industry. We’ve partnered with global tech leaders like Huawei to deploy intelligent street lighting systems in Weifang, China.
