Goalong Brand Story

The brand "Goalong" was created by our founder, Mr. Alan Gao. He enjoys the pleasure and freedom of whiskey, but didn't taste the Chinese flavor from it. He believes that true freedom is not only physical liberation, but also the pursuit of the mind and inner freedom.

With the vision of making Chinese whiskey, he established the first distillery with limited capital. The first bottle of Goalong Single Malt Whiskey - Laboratory The 1st was created here in 2016, which opened the road of Goalong Whiskey.

Goalong Distillery Liuyang

Innovative Still Design

Goalong Distillery adopts a 5-ton small still, matched with a larger shell and tube condenser, with the Lyne Arm slightly tilted upwards. The material of the still innovatively uses a combination of copper and stainless steel, and is heated with thermal oil for distillation.

The heating temperature can be controlled to above 140 degrees Celsius, resulting in a more intense Maillard reaction, which can give the new make a burnt aroma of toasted bread. Its taste is sweet, elegant, and has a rich malt aroma, as well as rose and green apple fruit aromas.

The Cellar: Four Seasons of Aging

Goalong's cellar is oriented to divide into four distinct barrel-aging zones, each embodying the seasons of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. It features 5-tiered steel racks, designed to accommodate a total of 6,666 casks.

There are more than 20 different casks in the cellar: Bourbon Cask, Sherry Cask, Mizunara Cask, various Wine Casks (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Port, Bordeaux, Burgundy), and our signature barrel-shaped Chinese brandy cask.
